About the role

Role Impact:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Treasury, the Treasury Analyst will play a key role in the various aspects of Treasury Operations, including cash management activities, bank account opening and maintenance, letters of credit, and administration of user bank portals as well as assisting with the establishment of related control functions.

What you will deliver:

  • Perform cash management function ensuring efficient use of funds which consists of forecasting cash requirements and coordinating capital calls and distributions with shareholder.

  • Preparation of daily cash flow forecast for all of Real Estate Operations .

  • Liaise with various groups internally at all levels of the organization to determine upcoming cash requirements to effectively manage cash.

  • Execute wires and electronic fund transfers using various online banking platforms in connection with intercompany transactions, contributions, distributions, investment transactions, debt principal and interest payments, taxes, invoice payments to third party vendors, accurately and timely in accordance with company policy and procedures.

  • Review monthly bank fees and investigate significant variances. Monitor and process stop payment cheque request and EFT returns.

  • Administer online banking portals with primary focus on Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) and Cheque Fraud Protection (CFP)

  • Assist with the optimization of bank account structures to streamline cash management operations.

  • Manage banking authorities, ensuring that all authorized signers and payment approvers are maintained in accordance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain current foreign currency exchange rates database.

  • Investigate and coordinate banking inquiries and escalations.

  • Establish best practices with focus on enhancing efficiencies, controls, fraud detection and cost savings

  • Assist in establishing treasury controls, procedures, and policies.

  • Providing support to Treasury team members in all aspects including administering letters of credit, bank opening, closing and modifications to bank accounts as needed.

  • Respond to inquiries from various groups as they arise.

  • Assist in the annual external audit relating to cash balance and banking confirmations.

  • Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives.

  • Participate in various treasury initiatives and special projects/requests as required.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and administrative skills

  • Must be detail-oriented with ability to multitask and manage conflicting/competing priorities

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) and able communicate effectively with parties at all levels of an organization

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines

  • Must show initiative and work effectively with minimal supervision in both an independent and team environment.

  • Must be a self-starter

What you need to succeed:

  • Minimum 3+ years Treasury experience in a corporate environment

  • University degree in Finance, Business, or related field

  • Accounting or Treasury designation would be an asset

  • Working knowledge of banking industry standards

  • Progressive experience with cash flow, banking platforms and other treasury related activities

  • Solid knowledge of cash management principles and treasury practices

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word)

  • Must have experience working with ERP systems (Yardi an asset) and complex Excel financial models

Starting base salary for this job level may range from $58,194 - $77,592. The actual base salary offered will consider several factors including, but not limited to the role, experiences, skills & qualifications, location, market and internal considerations; with this context, CF reserves the right to pay above this range.
