Director, Capital Markets
As the Director, Capital Markets, you will play a key leadership role in driving capital raising initiatives and expanding Lankin Investments' presence across Canada's wealth management community. Working closely with the Vice President(s) of Wholesale & Institutional and the President, Capital Markets, you will be responsible for developing strategic relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and supporting the continued growth of our investment platform. This role requires a highly motivated and relationship-driven professional with a strong understanding of the Canadian wealth management landscape. You will work collaboratively across Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Compliance to deliver an exceptional experience for advisors, investors, and strategic partners while contributing to the overall growth of the Capital Markets business.
Key Responsibilities Develop and execute business development strategies to support capital raising initiatives and drive sales growth. Build, manage, and strengthen relationships with investment advisors, dealer firms, family offices, exempt market dealers, and other strategic partners across Canada. Identify and pursue new business opportunities while expanding existing advisor and investor relationships. Partner with senior leadership to execute strategic sales initiatives and achieve capital raising objectives. Present investment opportunities, market insights, and product updates to advisors, investors, and prospective clients through meetings, presentations, webinars, and industry events. Serve as a trusted resource for advisors by providing timely information on investment products, market developments, and operational processes. Oversee the investment process from initial advisor engagement through subscription, documentation, internal coordination, compliance review, and trade fulfillment to ensure a seamless client experience. Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline management, and relationship tracking within the CRM while preparing regular reports on business development initiatives and sales performance. Collaborate closely with Marketing, Operations, Investor Relations, and Compliance to support business initiatives and enhance the client experience. Represent Lankin Investments at industry conferences, networking events, educational seminars, and client meetings. Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and industry developments to identify opportunities for continued growth and product positioning. Contribute to strategic planning by providing market intelligence, advisor feedback, and recommendations to senior leadership. Qualifications Post-secondary degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in capital markets, wealth management, business development, institutional sales, or investment sales. Strong understanding of the Canadian wealth management industry, including CIRO dealer firms, exempt market dealers (EMDs), private placements, family offices, and independent wealth platforms. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain senior-level client and advisor relationships while driving business growth. Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills. Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) and Microsoft Office applications. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Canadian Securities Course (CSC), CIM, CFA, CFP, or other relevant industry designation is considered an asset. Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset.
