Your Role in Supporting Our Members: As a Consultant, Operational Risk Management, you will play a key role in strengthening Vancity’s operational resilience by designing, implementing, and sustaining enterprise-wide operational risk and third-party risk management frameworks. This role provides independent second line oversight and challenge, with direct impact on safeguarding our members, supporting regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong risk-aware culture across the organization. We are seeking a risk professional with strong regulatory expertise, strong analytical skills, and a collaborative approach to influence sound risk practices across the business. This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at our Vancity head office. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands. How You'll Make an Impact: Design and enhance the Operational Risk Management and Resilience Framework including policies, procedures, and tools. Implement and sustain the Third-Party Risk Management Framework, including: Review and challenge criticality and risk triage (CRT) assessments. Oversight of third-party risk assessments and due diligence. Ongoing monitoring, issue identification, and escalation of third-party risks. Design and implement the RCSA program; oversee and sustain KRIs, loss events, issues management, and scenario analysis. Provide independent second line oversight and challenge of first line practices across operational risk, resilience and third-party risk. Translate OSFI and BCFSA requirements into practical frameworks, policies, and guidance. Support critical operations mapping and resilience activities, including scenario testing. Monitor risk trends and control weaknesses, escalating material issues to senior management and committees. Deliver clear risk reporting to senior leadership and Board/Board committees. Partner with business units to embed sound risk practices while maintaining independence. Promote a strong risk culture and accountable decision-making. What You’ll Bring to the Team: 5+ years of experience in operational risk management, ERM or TPRM, preferably within financial services. A post-secondary degree in business, finance, risk management, or related discipline. Strong knowledge of OSFI (E-21 and B-10) and BCFSA expectations. Hands-on experience with RCSA, KRIs, loss data, issues management, and resilience tools. Experience developing risk assessments, risk indicators, and Board-level reporting. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across diverse business functions. Ability to produce Board-level reporting and insights. Strong stakeholder management with the ability to provide constructive challenge. What You’ll Earn: This role offers a salary range of $86,400 to $116,800 per annum. The midpoint of the salary range is approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum and represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications, and experience for the position. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
