Thousands of patients depend on us every day for reliable access to safe blood, plasma, stem cells and organs and tissues.  About the role  Canadian Blood Services is looking for a regular, full-time, Senior Financial Analyst to join our dynamic Financial Planning & Analysis team.    As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a key role in helping leaders make informed business decisions through thoughtful financial planning, modelling, and analysis. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to translate complex financial and operational information into meaningful insights, identify opportunities for sustainable cost optimization, and support strategic priorities through effective budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.   Formula for Success

• Drawing on your strong financial planning, costing, and modelling expertise, you will develop reliable financial plans and analyses that support informed decision-making across the organization. • By building trusted relationships with leaders and business partners, you will provide valuable guidance on business performance, priorities, risks, opportunities, and key cost drivers to influence positive outcomes. • Using your ability to connect operational and financial data, you will deliver clear, actionable insights that help optimize costs while supporting responsible stewardship of organizational resources. • You will lead budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting activities for a complex portfolio, applying sound judgement and navigating ambiguity to ensure accurate and timely financial information. • Through a continuous improvement mindset, you will help strengthen planning and reporting processes, improve data quality, and support adoption of consistent financial planning and analysis practices. • By sharing your knowledge and expertise, you will coach analysts and business partners, helping to enhance financial acumen, analytical capability, and decision-making across the organization.

  Desired Education and Skills

• Professional accounting designation in good standing (CPA or an equivalent finance or accounting designation), combined with progressive experience in financial planning, analysis, accounting, or a related field. • Strong knowledge of financial and managerial accounting principles, with advanced analytical, costing, and financial modelling capabilities. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences. • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions and develop trust at all levels of the organization. • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and performance analysis within a large or complex organization; experience in health care, not-for-profit organizations, supply chain environments, manufacturing, enterprise resource planning systems, or planning applications is considered an asset. • Strong organizational skills, sound judgement, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while collaborating effectively across teams.   An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
