We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Property Accountant to join our growing team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Property Accountant is responsible for the full cycle accounting and financial reporting of a portfolio of commercial and residential properties. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting operational decision-making, and ensuring timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly bank files for the pre-authorized collection of more than 300 tenant rent payments. Record monthly rental revenue and maintain accurate tenant accounting records. Review and approve monthly bank and corporate credit card reconciliations for multiple legal entities. Oversee accounts payable processing and vendor payment functions. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances. Prepare KPI reports and ad hoc financial analysis for management. Support year-end audit preparation. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications & Skills Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline. CPA designation (or actively pursuing designation) is considered a strong asset. Minimum five years of progressive accounting experience. Experience in property management, real estate, or multi-entity accounting is considered an asset. Strong understanding of Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (ASPE) Experience with QuickBooks Online or comparable accounting software. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
