Supports senior bankers in originating and executing transactions across equity and debt financings, mergers & acquisitions, strategic alternatives, and other corporate finance mandates for mining companies, metal producers, royalty/streaming companies, and related natural resource clients. Role Location: Calgary, AB Key Role Responsibilities: Participate in deal teams to develop, present, and win mandates for new Metals & Mining investment banking opportunities. Prepare and deliver client presentations, pitch books, management presentations, board materials, and transaction-related marketing documents. Conduct detailed company, commodity, and industry analysis across base metals, precious metals, bulk commodities, battery metals, critical minerals, and mining services sectors. Monitor commodity markets, macroeconomic developments, regulatory changes, ESG trends, and industry dynamics impacting Metals & Mining clients. Support transaction execution across mergers and acquisitions, public and private financings, strategic reviews, joint ventures, royalty and streaming transactions, and other corporate finance assignments. Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models. Provide analytical insights and strategic recommendations to clients and deal teams. Coordinate internal resources and collaborate with equity capital markets, debt capital markets, corporate banking, research, sales & trading, and risk management teams. Ensure all activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk management standards. Contribute to the development of sector knowledge, market intelligence, and business development initiatives. Support strategic initiatives and continuous improvement efforts that enhance client service, execution efficiency, and team performance. Key Skills & Qualifications Relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, valuation, equity research, corporate development, or related financial services roles. Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Geology, Mining Engineering, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline with a strong academic record. CFA, CPA, CBV, P.Eng., or other relevant professional designation considered an asset. 1+ years of investment banking experience with demonstrated transaction execution experience. Previous exposure to the Metals & Mining, Natural Resources, Energy Transition, or Industrials sectors preferred. Strong understanding of mining industry fundamentals, commodity markets, reserve and resource classifications, mining operations, and project development lifecycles. Knowledge of capital markets products including equity offerings, debt financings, mergers & acquisitions, royalty and streaming structures, and project finance. Advanced financial modeling and valuation capabilities, including mining-specific NAV and commodity sensitivity analysis. Strong interpersonal skills used within a demanding team environment. Ability to attentively review, assess and provide detailed information daily on multiple projects in an organized manner. Demonstrated proactivity, resiliency, and an unfailingly positive attitude. Excellent capacity to independently function as part of a team through self-motivation. Strong work ethic and a high level of integrity.
