Role Description The Financial Controller is a full-time, on-site role based in Abbotsford, BC. The Financial Controller is responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial operations across a diversified group of entities, including not-for-profit, holding, and operating companies in Canada and the United States. This role leads all day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and financial planning processes, ensuring strong controls, consistent practices, and reliable information to support decision-making and organizational growth. The Controller partners closely with the CFO to translate strategic direction into effective financial execution.

Job Duties Lead and manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes across all entities Prepare and consolidate financial statements Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all financial reporting Deliver variance analysis and insights to support leadership decision-making Oversee all accounting functions (GL, AP, AR) Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations across entities Standardize accounting policies and procedures across the organization Ensure consistent application of accounting practices Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes across all business units Collaborate and support functional business leaders with reporting, data and information Develop and maintain financial models supporting planning activities Monitor performance against budget and provide regular variance reporting Ensure financial plans align with strategic priorities set by the CFO and management team Coordinate tax filings and compliance requirements across Canada and the United States Support external audits and regulatory requirements, including not-for-profit considerations Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial policies Support risk management processes in partnership with the CFO Own and optimize day-to-day use of ERP and financial systems Ensure financial data integrity across systems Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability Ensure consistency and reliability of financial and operational data Act as a designated backup for payroll processing Mentor and support development of finance team members (if applicable) Occasional travel may be required (approximately 5%)

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA required 5–10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience Experience with multi-entity organizations; cross-border exposure (Canada/US) is an asset Strong understanding of financial reporting, controls, and compliance Advanced Excel and ERP/system experience High attention to detail with strong organizational and process discipline Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

The posted pay range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role; however, final salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s qualifications, experience, and relevant skills.
