About the role

Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

As the Financial Analyst, FP&A - Gross Margin, you will play a key role in building out the FP&A function. You will be supporting our cross-functional business partners, with a focus supporting our Gross Margin-dedicated teams in optimizing operations and scaling for growth, through enhanced KPI and reporting visibility, and cross-functional partnership. You will work closely with senior leadership and other internal stakeholders to drive brand performance through analytical insights and financial support and will play a key role in enhancing the financial performance management of these major drivers of our future profitability.

This role is based out of our North Vancouver office. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Meet Your Future Team:

The Gross Margin Financial Planning & Analysis team at Arc’teryx is responsible for providing leadership with the information they need to review past performance, understand business trends, and anticipate future performance and financial position. Through review of historic financials, variance analysis and KPI tracking, the team advises leadership on key investment decisions and performance improvement.

If you were the FA, FP&A – Gross Margin, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

Maintaining weekly and monthly margin reporting for key stakeholders using Onestream, PowerBI, Oracle and data analysis tools

Reviewing month-end financial results with emphasis on improving regional forecast accuracy, preparing variance analysis and delivering clear commentary on business performance

Supporting gross margin forecasting and reporting, including FOB costs, freight, duties, fair trade and owned-manufacturing costs, while partnering closely with Accounting and Amer/Group partners to investigate variances

Building working relationships with directors, cost owners, and functional teams, acting as a reliable and knowledgeable business partner for planning and reporting needs

Assisting our Canada-based manufacturing plant with cost variances, scenario analysis and performance reporting

Supporting with inventory forecasting and month end analysis in partnership with Global Planning team

Standardizing team deliverables for the Gross Margin FP&A team to enhance consistency and predictability of deliverables and expectations for our cross-functional partners

Supporting with decision analysis projects or initiatives that impact gross margin, including business cases, spend deep dives, and scenario modelling, while bringing analytical rigor and clear communication to every deliverable

Leading improvements to month end review process and reporting

Building and maintaining financial modelling related to product revenue, gross margin and inventory forecasts

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

Building improved reporting and visibility for senior stakeholders related to gross margin and distribution & transport

Working with Directors and Senior Leadership to review and understand cost variances and other related KPIs

Being a key stakeholder in decision analysis for strategic priorities, providing insights particularly as it pertains to costing and gross margin

Building and maintaining financial models that drive the company’s long term strategic plan

Helping support the overall seasonal buy strategy from an inventory perspective, providing targets and guidelines to teams involved

Are you our next FA, FP&A – Gross Margin?

You have 3+ years proven experience in Finance, Accounting and/or Financial Planning & Analysis role with financial modelling and business partnership experience

You have a bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or equivalent and ideally have your CPA, CMA, CA, CFA, or MBA

You have exceptional attention to detail

You have advanced analytical skills with a strong aptitude for MS Excel and data analysis tools, including Power BI

You can prioritize and manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines

You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and can collaborate with individuals across departments, organizations, and countries

You can coordinate and lead projects to completion

You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions

You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity

You can balance autonomy and collaboration

You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement

You seek the best (but sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is CAD$82,000 - $108,000
