About the role: The Case Costing Analyst performs a variety of functions. The technical functions required are maintaining the case costing database and reporting. The case costing related functions include understanding of the case costing methodology in order to analyze, identify and resolve data quality issues. The role interacts with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. The ability to develop and maintain positive relationship is a key performance expectation. He/she role models both professional and organizational core competencies What you'll be doing: Maintain case costing system including the maintaining, loading and processing data Responsible for the annual Case Costing submission to the Ontario Health Detailed data analysis to ensure the integrity and highest levels of data quality with financial, clinical data sets, clinical utilization and case costing data Development and production of standard and ad hoc reports and analysis Participates in a collaborative team based approach to problem solving clinical and corporate teams Collaborates with all hospital personnel on matters relating to case costing Provide education to hospital staff on the case costing methodology Attends meetings related to case costing as deemed appropriate Assists in the development of case costing tools for utilization review and management Assists in the identification and development of policies and procedures related to case costing Supports internal and external requests for case costing related data Attendance is congruent with hospital attendance policy Identifies opportunities to improve processes to streamline activities, and reduce duplication Performs other duties as assigned What you bring: Required degree in business, health sciences or relevant program of study. Working towards a professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) an asset Demonstrates strong technical and analytical aptitude Demonstrates ability to problem solve Demonstrated excellent computer skills: MS Office site (esp. Excel/Access), reporting applications (Crystal Reports), SQL Experience in doing presentations and providing educational sessions to all levels within the hospital Experience with health utilization concepts and databases (e.g. HIGs, weighted cases, Discharge Abstract Database, the National Ambulatory Care Reporting System) Experience with Management Information Systems methodology Experience in data manipulation Experience in database management techniques Recent related health care experience in case costing environment an asset Southlake Health is fully committed to a culture of belonging and an inclusive environment that encourages every team member to lead within their role, generate innovative ideas that reinforce our mission and goal to create a healthy workplace where our community can thrive.
