Role Description The Cost Accountant is a full-time, hybrid role based at Celtrade’s production facility in Mississauga, ON. Supporting the Cost Accounting Manager, this role is responsible for analyzing manufacturing costs, preparing cost reports, and supporting pricing decisions for products and customer formulations. Key responsibilities and accountabilities: Application of Costing Model to new products proposed by Sales and R&D Maintenance of Costing Model to ensure accuracy of costing to standards. Monitoring cost variances Analyzing pricing and margins of products and defining optimal price points Maintenance of material master and bill of material in the ERP system (Deacom) and ensuring accuracy of the data Calculating and implementing cost standards for materials, labor, and overhead Preparing cost of goods sold and production reports Analyzing various product and operational costs Performing other month-end close activities Performing annual standard cost updates as appropriate Assisting in the budget process - cost of sales and other expense accounts as assigned Completing the annual inventory standard re-cost Other Accounting Duties as assigned by senior management
Qualifications Strong cost accounting skills, including product costing, variance analysis, and inventory costing. Proficiency in journal entries (accounting) and general ledger maintenance. Solid finance and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights. Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Professional designation (CPA or working toward CPA) is an asset. Experience in food processing or batch processing manufacturing environments. Advanced proficiency with Excel and familiarity with ERP systems. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 Benefits: Health. Dental, Vision Care, Paramedical Services, Life and Critical Illness Insurance, RRSP/DPSP matching program
