About the role

V-TAC Payroll Management is seeking a high-energy Payroll Sales Associate who specializes in closing deals and building strategic partnerships. This is not a passive account management role; we are looking for a proactive hunter with deep roots in the Canadian payroll industry who can drive revenue through direct sales and by cultivating referral networks with accountants, bookkeepers, and business organizations.

If you have a proven track record of meeting small business owners face-to-face, delivering persuasive pitches over the phone, and converting leads into long-term clients, we want you on our team.

Responsibilities: Direct Sales & Closing: Execute end-to-end sales cycles for managed and self-service payroll solutions. Conduct compelling in-person and virtual product demonstrations that address specific pain points and close deals effectively. Strategic Partnership Development: Actively build and nurture relationships with accountants, bookkeepers, CPAs, and business associations. Serve as their trusted payroll partner for their SMB clients, creating a sustainable referral pipeline. High-Volume Prospecting: Utilize email outreach, and networking to generate qualified leads. Maintain a robust pipeline and consistently meet or exceed monthly sales targets. Client Meetings & Consultations: Schedule and conduct discovery meetings with business owners to assess their payroll needs. Translate complex Canadian tax and compliance requirements (EI, CPP, T4s) into clear value propositions. Proposal & Contract Management: Prepare accurate pricing quotes and sales contracts. Negotiate terms confidently to secure commitments while maintaining healthy margins. CRM Discipline: Meticulously track all prospecting activities, client interactions, and deal stages in our CRM system to ensure no opportunity falls through the cracks. Event Representation: Represent V-TAC at trade shows, chamber of commerce events, and accountant association meetings to generate leads and strengthen brand visibility.

Qualifications: Canadian Payroll Industry Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience selling payroll services, HR tech, or B2B SaaS specifically within the Canadian market. You must understand the nuances of CRA regulations, provincial employment standards, and remittance cycles. Proven Closer: Demonstrated history of meeting/exceeding sales quotas. We want to see your numbers and hear about your biggest wins. Exceptional Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities. You must be equally confident and persuasive on the phone and in person during client meetings. Partnership Builder: Existing network or proven ability to build relationships with accounting firms and professional organizations is highly preferred. Self-Starter Mentality: Ability to work independently, manage your own calendar, and stay motivated without constant supervision. Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., Zoho, HubSpot), Google Sheets and modern sales enablement tools. Willingness to Travel: Comfortable traveling locally for client meetings, networking events, and trade shows.

What We Offer: Competitive Base Salary + Uncapped Commission: Your earning potential is directly tied to your performance. Comprehensive Benefits: Dental, vision, and health coverage. Career Growth: Clear path for advancement in a growing company. Supportive Culture: A collaborative team environment where sales success is celebrated. Perks: On-site parking and paid time off.
