General Manager, Leasing The Finance Group (tFG) is recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established organization in the automotive and financial services industry, for a General Manager, Leasing. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leasing, lending, or commercial finance professional to lead an established in-house leasing division. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing the lease portfolio while balancing credit risk, leading a team, and driving new business opportunities.

About the Opportunity Reporting to senior leadership, the General Manager, Leasing will oversee the overall performance of the leasing division, combining portfolio management, business development, and team leadership. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and making sound commercial decisions while ensuring disciplined risk management.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio & Risk Management Oversee the performance and profitability of the lease portfolio. Review and approve lease transactions through sound credit adjudication and risk assessment. Monitor portfolio performance, including renewals, delinquency trends, concentration risk, and overall asset quality. Manage residual value strategies and asset disposition planning. Build and maintain strong relationships with lending partners while ensuring compliance with financing facilities.

Business Development & Growth Develop and execute strategies to grow the leasing portfolio across both retail and commercial markets. Build relationships with new and existing clients through networking, referrals, industry events, and strategic partnerships. Identify opportunities to expand into new industries, fleet accounts, and commercial leasing opportunities. Work closely with internal sales teams to increase awareness and utilization of the leasing division. Develop marketing initiatives that support long-term portfolio growth.

Leadership & Operations Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing leasing team. Recruit, mentor, and support additional team members as the business continues to grow. Establish clear processes, performance expectations, and operational discipline. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and business planning for the division. Maintain accurate CRM and pipeline management practices. Collaborate with finance and leadership teams to ensure sound operational and financial decision-making.

Qualifications Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in leasing, commercial lending, equipment finance, automotive finance, financial services, or a related industry. Leadership experience managing teams and driving business growth. Strong understanding of credit adjudication, commercial lending, portfolio management, and financial risk. Experience working with lending institutions, credit facilities, and financing structures. Proven success developing new business and growing client relationships. Strong analytical and financial skills with the ability to make sound commercial decisions. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
