Description The Senior Analyst communicate directly with banks and other asset based lending clients to understand company provided data for the purpose of preparing the inventory assessment and appraisal report. This role will be based in Montreal and must be fluent in the French language. Responsible for a high degree of proficiency in analyzing quantitative data, determining clients’ industry positions and financial performance, and organizing the solutions that will lead to the successful completion of projects related to ABL appraisals. Applies business knowledge and experience to build valuation models for provided inventory data, conduct and apply research, and communicate the results of appraisals in narrative documents. In this role, you will: Provide full support for on-going and new valuations, which includes due diligence, analysis, and data collection ensuring the accuracy of supplied information. Work in accordance with established methodology and utilize standard models and templates with direction. Handle multiple projects from start to finish, independently, and with the support of a team, in a friendly learning environment. Conduct back-up exhibit calls with companies to ensure Gordon Brothers has not miss-interpreted any information that was provided. Analyze key performance metrics and prepare values along with rationale for sign-off. Communicate directly with bank clients and appraised companies to understand company-provided information and its business and operational challenges. Ensure the production of the highest quality product, while exceeding client expectations with respect to professionalism and expediency. Perform research in retail, consumer products, industrial and/or other market sectors; proactively communicate to management important events and/or possible business leads that may impact or generate deals for other Gordon Brothers Group divisions. Provide final appraisal report of quantitative and qualitative findings to client. Conduct solo job inspections and/or client meetings as needed. Provide additional analysis support as requested by management. Maintain Gordon Brothers’ Appraisal Application database to ensure accurate and timely contact, company, and job information. Become proficient in and adhere to USPAP standards, particularly as they apply to inventory valuations. The ideal candidate will have the following: Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken. University degree in business commerce or related study including finance, accounting or economics. 4-5 years prior working experience; preferable in business, audit, financial, lending, or consulting. Proficiency with MS Excel and Word is required; working knowledge of MS PowerPoint is preferred. Comprehensive understanding of financial statements is essential, including allocation of overhead expenses, in-depth understanding of inventory and other asset accounting methodologies. Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, presentation, and project management skills. Self-motivated with the ability and willingness to manage multiple projects with a close attention to detail.
