Hypertec is seeking a Manager of Payroll, Benefits and HRIS for a contract of 14 months in Montreal, Quebec. If you are motivated, collaborative, and aligned with our values, we would love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Contributing:

Payroll Management

  • Lead and oversee accurate and timely payroll processing across Canada and the U.S., ensuring compliance with jurisdictional laws;
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian and U.S. federal, provincial and state regulations, including CRA, RQ, IRS, and other tax authorities;
  • Manage year-end processes, including T4s and RL-1s (Canada), and W-2s (U.S.);
  • Develop and enforce payroll policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency;
  • Oversee payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting to ensure compliance and resolve discrepancies;
  • Manage vendor relationships with the payroll service provider UKG.

Benefits Administration

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and management of comprehensive employee benefits programs in Canada and the U.S., including health, dental, vision, retirement plans, wellness programs, and additional perks;
  • Lead annual open enrollment processes for U.S. employees;
  • Serve as a primary point of escalation for complex benefits-related inquiries and issue resolution.

HRIS Management

  • Oversee the organization’s HRIS platform to optimize functionality, reporting, and data security;
  • Maintain data accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality within the HRIS;
  • Lead system enhancements, including workflows, reporting dashboards, and self-service tools for employees and managers.

 

What Sets You Apart:

  • Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field;

  • 5 years of experience in supervision of payroll, benefits administration, and HRIS management, including multi-jurisdictional experience in Canada and the U.S.;

  • Experience with cross-border benefits management is strongly preferred;

  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian and U.S. payroll systems;

  • Experience with UKG is an asset;

  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions, an asset

  • Strong understanding of employment laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements in both countries;

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop and inspire a team;

  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities;

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
