Who are you?

Trading Central is seeking a Junior Financial Market Research Analyst to join its North American Research desk in Ottawa. This is a great opportunity for a recent finance graduate looking to build a career at the intersection of financial markets, quantitative research, and fintech. Main requirements: • Passionate about financial markets and eager to build a research career • Technical analysis experience is a strong asset • Comfortable with basic coding/scripting (Python) to support data-driven research workflows • Strong analytical skills, with an interest in both fundamental and technical approaches to equities • Strong writing and communication skills — able to translate market data into clear, client-ready insight • Ability to work well independently and as part of a small, fast-paced team • Completion of a recognized college or university finance program • Experience with financial data platforms (e.g., Refinitiv Workspace, Bloomberg) is a strong asset • Fluent in English written and oral. A second language would be an asset • Ability to work core business hours (9–5, Monday to Friday), Canadian holiday’s, with some flexibility around market events • Applicants with relevant financial markets experience will be strongly considered

What we will do together?

Trading Central combines technical analysis, quantamental scoring, and AI-powered research tools to deliver market insight to banks, brokerages, and asset managers worldwide. You'll work alongside experienced analysts, learning both the craft of market analysis and the technology and data. Reporting to Trading Central's Head of North American Research, your responsibilities will include and are not limited to: • Following U.S. and Canadian equity markets to identify and report on market-moving news and themes • Producing technical and quantamental stock, ETF, and index write-ups for client-facing publications • Updating and maintaining intraday equity, forex, and commodity charts using Trading Central's proprietary technical analysis methodology • Supporting the research team's use of Trading Central's data and analytics tools (including our AI/MCP-powered research platform) to scale content production • Assisting in the distribution of research and market commentary to clients worldwide • Contributing to webinars and research presentations for financial institutions and brokerage partners • Helping maintain and improve internal research tools and dashboards powered by Trading Central analytics
