The role of Senior Manager, Life Sciences and Innovation in Vancouver is a vital part of the Capital Formation Group of Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV). Reporting to the Managing Director, Global Innovation Sector the primary responsibility of this role is to assist in developing new listings for TSX/TSXV in the the life sciences sector, developing TSX/TSXV as a central destination for Canadian and small-to-midcap international companies to list. Additionally, the role will look to support the broader innovation sector and help facilitate listings in the technology and clean technology sectors.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and maintain extensive relationships with the key local stakeholders and influencers (investment banks, securities lawyers, accountants, advisors, investors, associations, governments, and company executives)
    Ensure strong alignment and working partnerships with collaborators that facilitate listings on the stock exchange

  • Articulate the value proposition for TSX/TSXV relative to other domestic & global exchanges
    Support the broader TSX and TSX Venture Exchange and represent TMX at industry events
    Conduct presentations, webinars, and seminars highlighting the benefits of listing on TSX and TSXV

  • Articulate the unique value proposition for TSX/TSXV relative to other domestic & global exchanges

  • Ensure strong alignment and working partnerships with collaborators that facilitate listings on the stock exchange

  • Identify, initiate and qualify opportunities to maintain a balanced funnel with a continuous focus on moving opportunities through the sales cycle

  • Document sales activities (contact, prospecting, opportunities, and next steps) in Salesforce and provide regular opportunity pipeline and forecast updates and reports as the need arises

  • Support the broader TSX and TSX Venture Exchange and represent TMX at industry events

  • Develop and deliver thought leadership materials for the Exchanges on the opportunities for life science companies to access capital

Must haves:

  • Post-secondary education, preferably a Bachelor of Commerce or MBA or equivalent experience

  • 5-10 years of consultative selling experience, including financial products and services

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer focus and presentation experience

  • Experience with PowerPoint and Excel and presentations to C-Level executives

  • Collaborative teammate who can work efficiently with numerous partners

  • Knowledge and understanding of the capital markets

  • Familiar with Salesforce CRM or similar/equivalent sales tools

  • Travel is a requirement of the role

Nice to haves:

  • CFA is an asset

Salary Range - $91,600 - $100,000 per year
