Under the responsibility of the FP&A Manager, the Program Finance Partner’s main mandate is to support the program management team in performing new and recurring commercial bids from roadmap planning through to completion and executive presentation. This role also includes future contract launches and acting as a finance partner to program managers in delivering their programs’ financial indicators.

This role will allow the candidate to develop their skills in business finance and performance management. The candidate will develop, amongst other things, their knowledge of supply chain and production operations as well as aviation programs. A solid base in finance or accounting and the ability to coordinate with management stakeholders are crucial to the success of this posting. The role can serve as a steppingstone to a managerial role in finance or aviation programs.

Main responsibilities:

• Act as a business partner to the program management team in new and recurring commercial bids as well as performance management and strategic projections.
• Upskill program managers in leveraging various finance analyses to deliver against key metrics through close dialogue and ongoing business partnering.
• Implement effective and standardized tools and processes to perform commercial bids including templates, detailed roadmaps with review gates, and checklists.
• Own and maintain product pricing templates for all commercial bids leveraging costed BOMs, incorporating escalation factors, and providing clear summary tables for executive presentations.
• In coordination with the director of programs and program managers, support the leadership of the bid process and roadmap from planning through to completion and presentation.
• Work with various stakeholders across the organization, from production plant supervisors to supply chain directors, as to reflect accurate cost projections in all bids.
• Perform annual pricing escalations where they apply and ensure contractual clauses related to material and labour costs are enforced regularly.
• Support the performance review of programs vs past bids. With the help of FP&A, document deviations and ensure actions are in place to rectify these.
• Participate in program management reviews and contract launch meetings.
• Provide training and ongoing support to program managers on tools and processes.
• Maintain a close dialogue with the site’s Head of FP&A in identifying potential areas of improvement, and present solutions that will support the group’s long-term strategy.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree, preferably with a background in commerce, accounting or finance;
• Minimum of 3 to 4 years of work experience in product costing and cost analysis; preferably in a manufacturing environment;
• Demonstrates a strong interest in manufacturing program finance and operational performance;
• Demonstrates initiative, leadership, and excellent communication skills;
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, independently or in a team;
• Obvious talent for managing time and setting priorities;
• Advanced level on Microsoft Excel;
• May be asked to occasionally travel outside of the country for short trips (2-3 days);
• French Advanced, English functional for communication with other Canadian units.
