Modern Niagara is seeking an IT Asset Management Team Lead to join our Vaughan, ON IT team!

The IT Asset Management Team Lead plays a vital role in designing, developing, implementing, and supporting the organization’s comprehensive IT asset management strategy covering hardware, software, and telecommunications. Collaborating closely with other departments, this role ensures compliance with company policies and regulations while effectively managing, controlling, and safeguarding the organization’s hardware and software assets throughout their entire life cycle, from acquisition to final disposition. This encompasses planning, purchasing, monitoring, and recording software licenses and hardware assets to maintain compliance with internal accounting standards and vendor contracts.

This role will give you the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the overall asset program, enhance best practices, and drive operational efficiencies. You will ensure purchase requests align with budgetary constraints and meet legal and security requirements; all while adhering to the organization's procurement policy for handling IT software and hardware acquisition requests.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Track and ensure the accuracy of IT hardware, software, and telecommunication contracts and purchases throughout the product life cycle.
  • Evaluate and maintain IT asset management and life cycle policies, guidelines, processes, and procedures.
  • Recommend and establish new processes to enhance provisioning, acquisitions, recovery, or asset tracking.
  • Ensure software license compliance for all corporate-owned software titles and associated agreements.
  • Oversee and manage software portals for provisioning software licenses across the organization.
  • Manage the organization’s PC, mobile, and tablet life cycle program, including inventory and surplus disposal.
  • Interface with management to deliver metrics, presentations, budget information, and audit preparedness.
  • Facilitate the business' ongoing technical support and upgrade protection on selected products by managing maintenance, support, and upgrade protection renewals in advance of expiration.
  • Identify and capitalize on savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing, and services.
  • Manage contracts and relationships to maximize value creation and minimize costs for IT asset licensing, maintenance, and service offerings.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:

  • 3+ years of related experience in IT asset management with extensive knowledge of licensing, contracts, and procurement of IT assets (including renewals and maintenance).
  • 1+ years of experience leading, mentoring, and motivating a team to comply
  • Working knowledge and experience with IT service management tools, processes, and configuration management databases.
  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices.
  • Familiarity with Zoho ManageEngine would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in the construction industry would be considered an asset.
