Your opportunity


Reporting to the Tax Partners, the U.S. Tax Manager is responsible for working on a variety of US cross-border tax files and tax planning engagements, assisting clients, providing research and technical support, identifying and handling issues on files, and supporting the marketing initiatives of the practice. The individual also supervises and trains tax staff.


Your major responsibilities

  • Manage tax compliance and consulting engagements for owner managed clients
  • Manage client due date docket
  • Actively participate in all engagement phases including budget, analysis of work-in-progress, drafting of invoices and management of accounts receivables
  • Play key role in management of work-flow processes
  • Able to identify technical issues, research, propose and implement solutions
  • Draft correspondence for internal use and for client engagements
  • Stay current and advise on tax law changes
  • Prepare and present professional development seminars
  • Coach and mentor staff and delegate assignments

What we look for

  • Minimum 4 years of experience with US tax department of mid or large sized public accounting firm
  • Certified Public Accountant designation (US or CDN) or IRS Enrolled Agent designation (required for manager level position)
  • Completion of university level US tax coursework preferred
  • Experience working directly with business owners
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Well organized
  • Detail oriented; aversion to typos
  • Team player
  • Immediate potential to assume leadership responsibilities
