The Team

Full Stack Developers contributes to the overall success of the Online Digital Banking ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Contributes to the overall success of the International Banking in Globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you?

  • Plan and coordinate technical requests from internal and external teams
  • Maintain, improve, and innovate the technical platform for Scotiabank's new retail banking platform.
  • Work with build pipeline and cloud hosting teams to reduce build times and improve product delivery
  • Improve developer tooling
  • Analyze and develop technical requirements based on solution documentation
  • Ensure integrity of business and technical requirements in end-to-end customer journey
  • Drive joint application design solutioning sessions with our architecture, development and security architecture teams that inform high-level estimates for large and medium sized incoming initiatives
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment by information sharing and team cooperation

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • 5+ years' experience as a full-stack developer
  • 3+ years' experience working with ReactJS and NodeJS in a professional environment
  • 3+ years' of unit testing experience with both frontend and backend code
  • 3+ years' experience working in Agile/ Scrum framework
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence decision making across stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to lead team members with differing opinions and provide guidance to varying levels of experience
  • Effective organization, planning, and time management skills
  • Post-secondary education, preferably in computer science, engineering
  • Canadian bootcamp experience an asset
  • Experience working with monorepo architecture would be an asset
  • Experience working with applications running in Cloud, such as Azure, GCP, would be an asset
  • Experience working with Trunk based branching strategy would be an asset
