Reporting to the Senior Manager of Cryptographic Platforms, the Senior Associate Security Engineer

will:

  • Provide support during the implementation from a technical perspective on issues such as: Performance, Scalability, Reliability, Audit, Monitoring and Security
  • Identifies opportunities for efficiencies by leveraging automation and other techniques
  • Documents detailed design and defines technical solutions that take into account the enterprise architecture strategies, current state environment and constraints
  • Creates and updates technical project documentation (i.e. technical and configuration runbook, implementation plan, documentation etc.)
  • Maintain and support dev environments that includes but not limited to: ensuring Scotiabank required patching is maintained, ensuring currency on applications including testing, hotfixes and service packs, and support application integrations
  • Prepares change requests, plans and coordinates all implementations for production and non-production environments
  • Participate as required for onsite secure key ceremonies and lab based cryptographic platform functions.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with team members, stakeholders, and interface groups using a variety of techniques

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent work experience
  • IT standards, methodologies, key management regulations, and audit requirements
  • CISSP accreditation or equivalent or willingness to obtain.
  • Familiar with Key management & cryptography frameworks
  • 3-5 years of Application support experience with strong knowledge in implementation (installation, configuration, integration) and enterprise grade application support.
  • Proficiency in understanding concepts and technologies in DevOps, IT operations, security, cloud, microservices and containers.
  • 2+ years of experience in Linux & Windows servers and Shell scripting.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and effectively
