Contributes to the overall success in Technology Finance ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted follow governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Maintains the central financial datasets and spreadsheets, including financial results, and master transit/ account hierarchies, used by Technology Finance for planning, forecasting, and reporting. Use different tools to create, update and support the database with strategic decisions.
  • Implement automation to increase the team's efficiency.
  • Prime liaison with main technology support team.
  • Prepares and presents complex financial data and information in a meaningful, concise, and user-friendly manner for Technology Finance management (i.e., data visualization).
  • Implements continual improvements to processes and reporting to meet evolving business requirements and best practices.
  • Champions a client-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Undergraduate degree in computer science with finance knowledge preferred.
  • Experience working with large datasets / databases.
  • Data visualization, data illustrations and automation
  • Strong technical skills:
  • Proficiency with VBA coding
  • Advanced Excel
  • Power BI
  • Powerpoint
  • SQL (would be an asset but not required)
  • Attention to detail is crucial.
  • Knowledge of financial and management reporting principles as applied to banking issues, and an understanding of the business planning process, dealing with accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls.
