ICT P&C Canada Actuarial Leader

We are looking for an Actuarial Property & Casualty (P&C) Director to lead our Canadian Insurance Consulting and Technology (ICT) P&C practice and drive revenue generation for the ICT business by maintaining the strength of WTW's market position. This will involve maximizing revenue from existing client relationships, developing new client relationships, and leveraging relationships that exist within other WTW lines of business and geographies to create new business opportunities.

You will also play a key role in our marketing efforts and the growth of this practice area for key client groups by leading and supporting client project teams as a Client Relationship Manager and Senior Practitioner, and by promoting thought leadership.

As an engagement and project leader, you will oversee the client and project teams with whom you work, and you will serve as a resource to managers, consultants, and analysts as you help them build their technical and client-facing expertise. You will meet revenue and billable hour goals.

Close working relationships will be required with the Sales and Growth Leader, the Sales and Growth team, the P&C Leadership Team and with other senior practitioners in the Americas.

The Role

Clients

  • Build and maintain relationships with key players within the Insurance and Financial Services market
  • Develop and maintain a trusted advisor relationship with client contacts through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects
  • Participate fully in the ICT practice and the achievement of the overall ICT business plan and budget
  • Contribute to the development of intellectual capital
  • Interface with colleagues in both ICT and other WTW lines of business in both the Americas and other regions on assignments that reflect the client's broader business issues
  • Participate in ICT regional and cross-functional teams, bringing technical expertise and promoting teamwork to ensure client satisfaction and profitable business growth
  • Seek opportunities to share knowledge/clients/resources to maximize business effectiveness across the Americas Region
  • Develop new business opportunities and enhance existing relationships that support achieving the revenue goal described by your manager

  • Actively seek new business development opportunities and maximize business through relationships and contacts
  • Meet billable hours and sales targets, operating as a highly respected and market-leading consultant

The Requirements

Must Haves

  • Strong P&C insurance market knowledge
  • FCIA with 10+ years of experience in an insurance and/or actuarial environment
  • Broad knowledge of most technical areas including reserving, pricing, financial reporting, IFRS 17, mergers and acquisitions, predictive modeling and ERM
  • Qualified for and demonstrated ability to take on Appointed Actuary roles
  • Strong analytical skills including ability to draw conclusions and identify trends from data in a logical, systematic way
  • Demonstrated ability to propose and win profitable new business within the insurance market
  • Proven ability to build strong client and associate relationships, influence CEOs, CROs, Chief Actuaries and CFOs and provide innovative solutions
  • Proven people management skills
  • Self-driven achiever with a value for teamwork, collaboration, decisiveness, and integrity
  • Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget
  • Strong client relationship, interpersonal and team skills
  • Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and French for all candidates residing in Quebec
  • Availability to travel on an as needed basis

Nice to Haves

  • Prior consulting experience in a sales or business development role and client relationship management role
  • Experience with WTW software including ResQ, Igloo, Radar/Emblem and/or Unify
  • Experience working in an insurance and/or actuarial consulting environment in a sales or business development role and client relationship management role

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $210,000-$260,000 CAD. This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
