The Opportunity:

Under Sunwing Vacations, we are looking for a General Accountant to join us in making vacation dreams come true. As the General Accountant you will be responsible for assisting with the daily finance/accounting duties, as well as the preparation of monthly entries and account reconciliations. The position reports to the Finance Manager and will be located in Toronto, ON. Apply now and have your career soar to new heights - under our wing!

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for all reporting and reconciling of Aircraft Reserves and inquiries
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain schedules such as those relating to Aircraft Reserves, Maintenance, and Software
  • Review and reconcile Seasonal Leases invoices and prepare related month end accruals and adjustments
  • Responsible for reviewing and preparing assigned month end accruals such as Inventory and DOC related accounts
  • Assist the account Supervisor with reviewing AR/AP Aging Reports
  • Prepare Monthly Balance sheets reconciliations for assigned accounts and rectify any discrepancies
  • Assist Finance Manager and accounting Supervisor to ensure the month end activities and audit queries are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Support account Supervisor to prepare and organize balance sheet reconciliations with supporting documents
  • Assist accounting Supervisor with preparing Monthly HST/QST Filings
  • Responsible for quarterly tax filings with Federal and Provincial Government

What You'll Need:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of related work experience, with some experience in supervisory/management responsibilities
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field
  • Ability to Review and Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Attention to detail
  • Proactive individual
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
  • Fast-learner
  • Adaptability and flexibility to changing environments
