Business Continuity is what enables the Bank to be able to continue to serve our clients in times of crisis and disruption. A crucial function especially in today's landscape, the successful candidate leads the Business Continuity team and overall enterprise program in support of the overall objectives of the Enterprise Crisis Management team to support the Bank's overall preparedness and response. With a global mandate, this role works closely with all the regions in which we operate within the context of the top risks within each market.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Provides leadership, motivation and development opportunities to the Business Continuity team.
  • Leads and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders on processes focused on Business Continuity Management, with the objective to create an improved end state.
  • Oversees communication material, including presentation decks, playbooks, status updates, monthly BCM events, BCMU metrics, quarterly Continuum ensuring content is applicable to target audiences and aligns with overall program objectives
  • Working closely with the Vice President, Enterprise Crisis Management, and other members of BCMU and ECM, identify special projects that are in line with the strategic objectives of the group and that serve to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Business Continuity Management
  • Responsible for the development of Business Continuity Plans for Tangerine Bank as well as leading crisis responses for major events impacting Tangerine Bank.
  • Opportunity to further enhance and strengthen the business continuity plans and preparedness specifically for the Bank's international markets.
  • Oversees the official BCMU reporting conducted by the Business Continuity Specialists team

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Experience working in crisis management, business continuity, disaster recovery, and/or operational resilience
  • Demonstrated capabilities in managing and planning activities related to crises impacting business
  • Strong background and experience in project management, program and change management practices
  • Flexible and creative thinker with the ability to define business trade-offs, generate out-of-the-box solutions and manage uncertainty; proactively identify and solve complex problems impacting management and business direction
  • People management and leadership experience.
  • Internationally recognized Crisis Management and Business Continuity certification (e.g. CBCP) would be an asset, or the ability to achieve certification in 12 months
  • Spanish would be an asset.
  • Ability to prioritize against many competing interests in an environment of constant change
  • Solid background in developing communications, briefings and presentations to senior executives
  • Have experience and participated in internal and external audits, specifically with regulators
