Responsible for administering benefit programs in alignment with established standards and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). This role also provides support for escalated inquiries from vendor management, leave's bi-weekly payroll process & resolving data issues. This role works closely with the benefit Vendor Partners, HR Services Total Rewards Delivery teams and the Total Rewards COE to complete administrative tasks and support inquiries on issues related to benefit processes.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
• Ensures the accurate and timely processing of employee benefits data, including data maintenance and updating
• Provides support by answering inquiries and resolving issues related to benefit programs/plans, escalating high risk issues to Benefits Administration Lead where appropriate
• Ensures the delivery of benefit procedures and processes are in compliance with standards and SLAs
• Liaises with benefits vendors to resolve inquiries and issues including benefit appeals, short and long term disability, life insurance etc.
• Seeks opportunities to improve or enhance processes, procedures and technologies related to benefits, proposes recommendations to Manager, Canadian Benefits Administration
• Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations within his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct
• Champions a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team
• Ensures all benefit related documents and data such as Survivor Services files, disability decisions and updates, and coverage letters are filed and/or completed efficiently.
• Creates high performance culture with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Identify ways of improving on team and function performance metrics.
• Act as subject matter experts on either short/long term disability, survivor services and benefits administration activities and attend regular meetings with business partners to enhance processes. Sometimes filling in for the Benefits Administration Lead when necessary.
• Training new team members on processes and procedures. Continuously improve the training experience and update desktop procedures, training guides and job aids as necessary.
