WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The QTS (Quantitative Technology Services) Data Protection Team is responsible for leading strategic plans related to Data Protection for Capital Markets. In this role you will be responsible for delivering and communicating efficient and scalable controls to ensure Data Leakage Protection objectives are accomplished across QTS and CM business. The role aims to achieve consistency with Enterprise initiatives and policies while considering impact to CM business processes.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Lead the development of CM specific data protection processes identifying and preventing unauthorized access to sensitive data and the inappropriate sharing, transfer, or use of sensitive data.

  • Partner with Senior CM business management, Operational Risk, Enterprise Cyber Technology and Data Protection teams to achieve consistency with Enterprise initiatives and policies while considering impact to CM business processes.

  • Responsible for developing sustainable operational solutions to support the effectiveness of data protection controls.

  • Proactively monitor and report on the data protection exemptions to ensure appropriateness and alignment with operational risk strategy.

  • Assistance with special projects and initiatives within the QTS Cyber Security and Data Protection team.

  • Establish strong working relationships across business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners. Collaborate with groups to define and achieve deliverables and ensure initiatives are effectively integrated into RBC procedures and processes.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • 10 years within Information Technology development, operations role, or Information Security side.

  • Knowledge of IT Risk frameworks, methodologies, and industry standards related to data protection.

  • Strong organizational, project management and time management capabilities.

  • A strong understanding of technology and/or financial services industry.

  • CISSP / CISA and/or CRISC Certifications.

Other Required Qualifications:

  • Creative problem-solving and analytical skills with the proven ability to exercise flexibility and judgment while partnering with stakeholders at different levels of the organization.

  • Ability to challenge current control landscape, looking to increase efficiencies and drive changes on existing processes.

  • Self-discipline and organization with proven time management skills.

  • Previous experience in Information Security process ownership/governance.

Nice-to-have:

  • Cyber Risk and Control management knowledge and industry experience across Information Technology (IT) domains

  • Working experience in cybersecurity and/or IT risk management spaces

  • Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses.
