Purpose:


The Reconciliation Analyst is responsible for reconciling and overseeing all complex facets associated with the cash and security clearance & ledger activities and in so doing ensure an appropriate level of operational efficiency, strict adherence to Bank and regulatory policies and procedures and escalation of issues to management consistent with our internal and external customers’ needs is maintained and effective procedural and management controls are in place.


What you'll do?

  • Completing various complex reconciliations / adjustments (as assigned)
  • Participate in physical securities count and monitor outstanding reconciling adjustments
  • Proactively assist other team members as required and assist with staff training / cross training
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities to improve processing efficiency and / or reduce risk
  • Supporting the implementation of new processes/ systems including conversions & project related activities as required
  • Understanding departmental and client needs while collaborating with our business partners to focus on building strong relationships and encourage positive experiences
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy,
  • Adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Preparation / completion of the Regulatory / Internal reporting including audit related activities and participating in mid/year end activities (i.e. physical security counts)
  • Effectively assist the Assistant Managers and Management Team in monitoring related risk and minimizing losses by ensuring procedural and management controls are followed and timely distribution of all reconciliations to business partners
  • Ensure control accounts and aged reconciling items are reviewed daily and follow escalation procedures for any potential process deficiencies
  • Proactively work with other processing areas towards uncovering root causes to reduce demand workload and prevent risk exposure through timely and on-going monitoring / analysis of errors.
  • Establishing and maintaining a high degree of processing / correcting adjustments in an accurate and timely manner
  • Responding knowledgeably, promptly, and professionally to client inquiries and provide technical expertise and specialized assistance relative to the various reconciliation / reporting processes


What you'll bring:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suits (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Overall knowledge of securities, accounting and finance, with some back-office experience.
  • Must be able to work independently and adapt to the various tasks assigned
  • Strong communication (verbal/written/presentation)
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary
  • Organized, able to multi-task, work well under pressure, and handle multiple projects/initiatives all within tight deadlines and minimum supervision
  • Provide back up for positions during absences / vacations as required. Sundry duties as assigned.
  • Overtime and weekends required as necessary
  • 3-5 years of Reconciliation and Accounting Background Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline.

Work Arrangement:


This position is currently a Hybrid role, with the expectation that you will work in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
