What is the Opportunity?

The Analyst, Business Management, will be key in supporting Group Risk Management (GRM) business management requests including reviewing asset reports across GRM, validating, reviewing, and resolving gaps of the asset reports with various users, and developing asset cost savings reports.

The role will require significant interaction with GRM peers and multiple business partners on a regular basis. Strong oral and written communication skills will be utilized consistently along with sound organizational practices.

This role will support the GRM Business Management center of expertise and be responsible for supporting various initiatives and administrative tasks, from planning to execution, providing operational support to GRM, and maintaining established service standards and be accountable for mitigation of operational risk within GRM.

What will you do?

Business Management

  • Fulfill on key activities in the Business Management Office Operations (e.g. asset management).
  • Support the Business Management Office Operations while continually looking for opportunities to increase operational efficiency and cost savings.
  • Identify and recommend changes and ideas to support process simplification efforts.

Developing, Analyzing and Reporting

  • Validate, analyze, reconcile, and consolidate multiple sources of data (e.g. technology, HR resources, etc.) to support the business management asset review process.
  • Support reporting by developing, analyzing and reconciling asset reports (e.g. asset reports, ad hoc inquiries), and provide proactive advice to GRM peers on any data exceptions.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy and completeness of asset data and provide proactive advice on any savings opportunities or efficiencies.

Delivery & Execution

  • Manage asset related projects and GRM business management initiatives which includes coordinating with stakeholders, planning, tracking, delivering, executing, and reporting.
  • Actively manage team Connect, SharePoint, Confluence sites, and assist in creating monthly newsletters.
  • Support Manager, GRM Business Management in the execution of GRM Business Management operations
  • Flexibility and mobility in moving between buildings is nice to have, as physical move of equipment from one office to another, or review of assets in different RBC offices may be required.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • Exposure to Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Problem solver continually looking for opportunities to streamline and increase operational efficiency
  • Adaptability, including high capacity to learn, pivot when required, working with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience in change management and Tableau reporting
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel - advanced macros/formulas, VBA a plus)
  • Experience in reporting, review, and analysis of multiple data points (data consolidation background and tools a plus)
  • Experience working in professional/ administrative setting (coop included)
  • Financial Literacy - accounting/ finance background

Please note: This posting is for a 4-months Fall 2024 Student placement with a start date of September 2024, and end date of December 2024. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of December 2024 ; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in December 2024), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
