As the Manager, Financial Regulatory Reporting you will manage the regulatory reporting process to provide timely and meaningful information to the executive team, Board of Directors, and regulators. You will oversee the preparation of financial modeling of business risks to support informed decision making and risk management. You will ensure high risk/complex transactions are appropriately accounted for and disclosed in accordance with reporting and regulatory standards. The role will also liaise with internal and external advisors to ensure satisfaction of business needs and compliance with reporting requirements.

As a Manager, Financial Regulatory Reporting:


HERE'S HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Management of regulatory and IFRS financial reporting process, including significant interaction with external advisors and service organizations.

  • Acts as a key contact with internal and external regulatory bodies and industry groups to provide feedback on significant accounting issues and financial reporting matters.

  • Provide timely and high-quality accounting advice on new, complex, or high-risk accounting or finance projects / transactions to assist business partners in achieving business and financial reporting objectives, including acquisitions and divestitures, impairments, etc.

  • Monitors new accounting standards and analyzes impacts to policy standards and financial statements.

  • Oversee documentation to substantiate and demonstrate adequate procedures and controls are in place to meet accounting and regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with internal policies.

  • Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Integrates information and data from multiple sources to enable appropriate data flow, enhanced analysis and/or streamlined reporting.

  • Provide leadership, coaching and management of team.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Completion of a University Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Possess a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA/CA) accounting designation

  • 7+ years' experience in financial reporting

  • Experience in Financial Services industry will be considered an asset

  • Experience in the development and documentation of governance processes

  • Proven leadership and decision making skills

  • Advanced collaboration skills and ability to build positive work relationships

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work within strict timeframes / deadlines

  • Superior technical accounting skills
