Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage and direct the accounting activity for Consolidation each period to ensure timely and precise execution of all technical jobs related with the translation, transfer and consolidation of all the operating ledgers into the consolidation ledger on a monthly basis.
  • Review monthly elimination entries to accurately present the financial results for all reporting entities.
  • Review monthly validations to assess the effectiveness and accuracy of existing ERP auto eliminations.
  • Lead month end review of consolidated financial results.
  • Preparation of the external financial statements for all reporting entities. Review and report the statement of cash flows and various other Note disclosures on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Ensuring all controls related to consolidation are effective by reviewing and completing all controls monthly/quarterly to ensure no control failures.
  • Oversee the monthly and quarterly coordination of close readiness and note preparation processes.
  • Oversee and provide guidance to the intermediate accountant and CPA students with their day-to-day activities.
  • Assist team with their annual performance development objectives and seek opportunities for their development and growth.
  • Oversee the preparation of the quarterly financial calendar.
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual support required for the external auditors.
  • Review quarterly and annual reporting requirements for Treasury.
  • Review quarterly and annual external reporting of the financial results to Statistics Canada and U.S Bureau of Economic Analysis.
  • Support business initiatives by creating and providing the correct mapping of the new transactions into our current organization model.

Your Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Out-of-the-box thinking with focus on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of MS office applications, particularly Excel.

Your Experience:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Experience with consolidation and elimination entries preferred.
