As a Portfolio Manager within our Strategic Program Delivery Office, you will be accountable for portfolio planning to balance conflicting demands between strategically critical programs and projects across our organization. This includes project screening, prioritization and allocation of resources based on organizational priorities and capacity to manage achieving the benefits identified.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead the evaluation, prioritization and justification of proposed additions and changes to the portfolio, collaborating with multiple stakeholders and assessing multiple competing projects and initiatives.

  • Ensure recommended projects & programs align to strategic goals and objectives.

  • Portfolio scenario planning & testing assumptions.

  • Communicate progress and status on key portfolio deliverables and milestones to all stakeholders.

  • Foster and maintain effective collaboration on execution and reporting on capital portfolio status, performance, and future approaches.

  • Lead Portfolio risk analysis of ongoing and future initiatives.

  • Ensures portfolio processes are in place for optimal allocation of company capital resources by researching industry information and performing analyses to benchmark the capital portfolio and programs.

  • Lead alignment meetings and prepare recommendations to present to steering committees and senior leadership.

  • Analyze completed projects and report results of benefits identified against business case objectives.

  • Resource planning & Management.

Your Skills:

  • Must have a demonstrated aptitude working with significant quantities of data.

  • Demonstrated advanced experience working with MS Excel.

  • Good working knowledge of databases is an asset.

  • Experience with OnePlan is an asset.

  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills. Able to communicate with various stakeholders at many levels. Ability to present ideas and facts clearly and effectively.

  • Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong influencing and decision-making skills.

  • Able to lead teams to work together to assess risk and find solutions.

  • Ability to define and prioritize goals, while having the ability to work productively during changing circumstances.

Your Experience:

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in business or engineering. Graduate program and/or professional designation an asset.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a finance role or project management role or suitable combination of both.

  • Capital budgeting experience is an asset.
