Purpose

Reporting to the Manager, Compliance the Compliance Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring that our operations adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. You will work closely with various departments to identify compliance risks, develop and implement policies and procedures, and conduct audits and assessments to monitor compliance effectiveness. This work is done under tight deadlines and requires a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and discretion.

Key Areas of Accountability

• Conduct thorough reviews and assessments of company policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and update compliance policies and procedures.

• Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance.

• Assist in the development and delivery of compliance training programs for employees.

• Investigate compliance issues, discrepancies, and concerns, and recommend corrective actions.

• Conduct internal audits and reviews to assess compliance with established policies and procedures (e.g. Safety Management System, ISO27001).

• Prepare reports and documentation detailing compliance activities, findings, and recommendations for improvement.

• Serve as a subject matter expert on compliance matters, providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders.

• Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in compliance and privacy regulations.

• Ensure compliance with privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA and other applicable laws by reviewing data handling practices, conducting privacy impact assessments, and implementing appropriate controls to safeguard sensitive information.

Qualifications

Education/ Certifications/ Knowledge:

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, law, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA) preferred.

• Strong understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, ISO27001).

• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and assess compliance implications.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, risk management, or a related field, preferably in the transportation, hospitality, or travel industry.

• Experience with compliance management software is an asset

Work Environment

Hybrid - 2 days work from office.

Compensation

  • The base salary offered for this role is $63,000 - $75,000 per annum and can vary based on job-related expertise, qualifications, experience and internal equity.
