You, as a Building Consultant, will:

  • Act as the lead Building Consultant and Cost Consultant, handling small to large-sized property-related insurance claims and construction related projects.
  • Ensure superior communication within the team and with external parties including consultants, clients, insurers, and adjusters.
  • Conduct onsite evaluations of restoration needs, document property damage from various causes, develop scope of repairs and oversee site activities while preparing cost estimates, budgets, and other financial assessments as needed.
  • Estimate emergency costs and rebuild utilizing industry standard tool as well as internal estimating softwares.
  • Collaborate with consultants to review and ensure compliance with Building Codes, identifying necessary upgrades.
  • Utilize resources and data from internal EllisDon teams to enhance service quality and project outcomes for our clients.
  • Develop and execute competitive tender packages for contractors and trades on behalf of clients.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for all project-related communications with stakeholders and EllisDon management.
  • Ability to manage and delegate tasks to internal team members and ensure accountability of deliverables to clients.
  • Participate in business development to grow client base in region.

Is this the right role for you?

  • 10+ years in onsite restoration experience, cost consulting, insurance, or construction project management is required.
  • IICRC credentials and restoration related certificates are required.
  • Strong skills in Xactimate, Excel and Microsoft Office are required.
  • Self-motivated and willing to work remotely and travel within the interior BC is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Construction, Project Management, Architectural, Engineering, or Trade Certification would be an asset.
  • CIP, PQS, CIQS, RICS, PMP, CRM designations would be an asset
