Do you love identifying people’s needs and helping them find solutions? We are hiring an Insurance Specialist to join Prospera's team. This is a hybrid role that meets employees and members virtually and in person depending on their needs. As a key member of our thriving Wealth Planning team, the successful candidate will deliver exceptional advice around financial risk management and legacy planning to our affluent members.

What you’ll do:

  • Service assigned branches with all their member insurance needs to the highest standards, ensuring careful methodical review of present and future financial needs for new and existing members.
  • Proactively develop own product knowledge and understanding of Prospera’s various lines of business to make meaningful connections with customer needs.
  • Attend and facilitate branch meetings, educating and coaching staff on insurance topics, how insurance can add value for clients, and recognizing referral opportunities.
  • Actively build and maintain positive relationships with clients, members, insurance companies, employees, industry peers and other stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain a referral network both within the organization and with external centers of influence.
  • Proactively contact members to review existing insurance portfolios and offer new products and services.
  • Monitor targets and set annual business plans for successful achievement of targets, keeping accurate records, and providing feedback to management of sales-related activities.
  • Prepare documents required for purchase of insurance products and submit on a timely basis. The expectation is that most of the business is processed electronically.
  • Review month-end reports on new business and lost business. Break down reporting by policy types, average revenues, and highlight any claims.

What you bring:

  • College diploma, Bachelor’s degree, or technical certificate.
  • 3 – 5 years’ customer service and business development experience in a life, disability and health insurance sales or similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Life, Accident, and Sickness Insurance Agent license.
  • Any of the following are considered an asset: Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation, Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation, or Certified Health Insurance (CHI) designation.
  • Proven sales skills and a passion for continuous learning and the interest in sharing knowledge and expertise with others.
  • Effective communication and relationship building skills and able to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing demands using judgment to prioritize ensuring on-time delivery of services.
  • Demonstrated accountability for quality and timeliness of work, achieving results with no oversight while following guidelines, standards and regulations.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and approaches to problems.
