The Nexus Water Group team has an opportunity for askilled Asset Management & GIS Analyst in BC near our office locations in Invermere, Kamloops, Kelowna, Vancouver, Victoria (Langford), BC. The Operational Management Systems (OMS) is an enterprise-wide multifaceted information management platform that integrates data from multiple application environments including Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The Asset Management & GIS Analyst is responsible for the development, maintenance, organization, administration and troubleshooting of the GIS and CMMS systems. As well as ensuring accountability of assets, verifying inventory of assets, developing and implementing asset procedures and identifying assets using tags or labeling equipment. Within the Business Units and OMS team, this role supports the analysis, design, planning, implementation and support of the platform regionally.

What you'll do

  • Work with the OMS and Ops teams to collect, define, develop and implement CMMS and GIS data within the OMS platform.
  • Assist with Asset Management plan for the Canadian Business Units, including annual reviews, updates and feeds into the capital plan.
  • Work with IT, OMS and Ops teams to develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), processes and support structures for the OMS platform.
  • Provide ongoing Operational support of the OMS platform including all application, infrastructure, and hardware assets.
  • Draft, create, manage, and/or contribute to profile drawings, right-of-way maps, and engineering plans in ArcGIS.
  • Develop and Implement changes to CMMS and GIS functions in the (OMS).
  • Ongoing support of OMS for the area Business Units.
  • Ongoing support and training of OMS hardware and software.
  • Collection and reconciliation of GPS field into GIS.
  • Ongoing support of business unit asset management requirements to include Repair & Replace sheets, annual reviews, and updates for capital planning.
  • Act as a liaison in areas of expertise between operational frontline teams, operations management, and other stakeholders.

What you'll bring

Experience

  • GISP (Certified GIS Professional) OR 1-3 years in GIS, related experience

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information Science or related field preferred
  • 1-3 years EsriTM Arc GIS experience preferred
  • 1-3 years of asset management and/or CMMS platform experience preferred
  • Water services experience preferred
  • Project Management experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of utility and/or water industries a plus.
  • Proficiency with Arc Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Portal and ArcGIS Server preferred.
  • Proficiency with SQL language is desirable.
  • Skill in collecting, analyzing, and organizing complex and technical data.
  • Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Experience with or ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to review work for accuracy.
  • Ability to effectively conveys technical information to technical and non‐technical users.
