About this opportunity:

Cenovus' Treasury Planning and Payments Department is resourcing for a Treasury Analyst. Reporting to the Team Lead, you will have the opportunity to embrace and maintain a robust, comprehensive 12-month cash forecast to analyze and evaluate variances from forecast to actuals across business segments. You will quickly develop strong treasury fundamentals to support short-term forecast, trading activities, and intercompany lending and settlements - producing produce weekly and monthly reports for CFO, VP, Treasury & Risk, and Senior Manager, Cash Management.

What you'll do:

  • Assist in the maintenance, development and reporting of Treasury's robust long-term forecast.

  • Understand and support the short-term forecast, trading activities, and intercompany lending in order to comprehend the dependencies into and within the model.

  • Engage with Tax, Budgets & Planning, Traders, Capital Markets, improving relationships with other departments having material impacts on cash.

  • Further refine, improve, and develop long-term forecast to provide analysis, guidance, and recommendations of effective cash management strategies across international banking structures to the VP, Treasury & Risk, and Senior Manager, Cash Management.

  • Lead complex problem solving to understand cash flows, execute trades when supporting team members, and improve the forecast.

Who you are:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.

  • Professional designation or progress towards a professional designation such as Charted Professional Accountant (CPA), Charter Financial Analyst (CFA), or Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) would be considered an asset.

  • Minimum 6 years' experience in financial modeling or relevant energy industry.

  • Knowledge of Financial modeling, cash forecasting, commodity trading, planning, and scheduling.
