Job summary

The Opportunity A well-established institutional investor is looking for a Senior Investment System Data Analyst to join its Investment Data Governance function. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes ownership of data problems end to end, not just someone who flags issues and moves on. You'll be the person making sure investment applications are feeding accurate, complete, and timely information to the business every single day. You'll report into the Director or Senior Manager of Investment Data Governance and work across a multi-system investment environment, touching everything from pricing and security master data to trade capture and vendor management. It's a fast-paced seat with real deadlines and real consequences when data goes sideways, so this suits someone who's comfortable owning outcomes under pressure. What You'll Own Data governance and controls Build and maintain data governance standards, models, and controls, and keep pushing for improvements as you spot gaps Design and build data quality checks, automating where you can and tightening up exception handling along the way Get into the weeds with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve complex data breaks; you're solving the problem, not just escalating it Investment data operations Take ownership of security master, reference data, pricing, and market data, consolidating multiple external sources into one trusted version of the truth Keep positions and transactions in sync across production systems Lead system releases and data recovery work to hit SLAs that Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Investment Management all depend on Platform and trade support Support front office and compliance trading applications end to end, including onboarding, configuration, and troubleshooting when trade flows break Administer Bloomberg, including terminal licensing, user onboarding, and permissions Projects and stakeholder management Sit as the data integrity SME on system development projects, from requirements through implementation Lead or coordinate cross-department initiatives, managing timelines and competing stakeholder expectations Support vendor management activities, from procurement and due diligence to invoice reconciliation Help onboard new data sources and configure systems as part of the broader Master Data Management strategy Document requirements, processes, and specifications clearly enough that someone else could pick up where you left off Mentor other analysts on the team and act as backup for daily production support What You Bring 7+ years in investment/financial systems or investment data management Post-secondary education in finance, or equivalent experience; Canadian Securities Course is a plus Working toward or holding a professional designation (CFA or similar) is an asset Solid grasp of investment products, marketable securities, derivatives, private placements, and real estate Strong understanding of capital markets across front, middle, and back office, and how the underlying systems support each Comfort navigating multi-system environments and understanding how different teams actually use the data Hands-on experience with platforms such as SimCorp Dimension, GoldenSource, SAP HANA, Snowflake, Bloomberg, FundApps, or similar front-office trading systems Familiarity with data quality tooling (Precisely DQ+ or equivalent) and relational data concepts SQL and Python proficiency; ETL and BI/reporting tool exposure is a strong plus; advanced Excel skills expected Curiosity around generative AI and how it applies to process automation Vendor management experience, including contract support and negotiation Working knowledge of Master Data Management concepts and technologies Business analysis fundamentals: requirements gathering, process mapping, testing, stakeholder management Accounting or performance reporting knowledge is a bonus, not a requirement
