Role Description The Financial Controller is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing the firm’s financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making. Day-to-day tasks include managing accounting processes, preparing and reviewing financial statements, monitoring cash flow, and maintaining general ledger integrity. The role involves leading budgeting and forecasting activities, analyzing financial performance, and providing insights to leadership on profitability, cost control, and resource allocation. The Financial Controller will ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations, coordinate with external accountants or auditors, and implement internal controls to safeguard financial data. The role also includes developing financial policies, optimizing financial systems, and collaborating with legal and administrative teams to support the firm’s operational and growth objectives. Qualifications Strong accounting expertise, including proficiency in Accounting principles and preparation of Financial Statements. Solid Finance and Financial Reporting skills, with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and regulatory compliance. Advanced Analytical Skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations. Experience with accounting software and financial management systems, preferably within professional services or law firm environments. Relevant post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional designation (CPA or equivalent) is an asset. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a remote setting. Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial and client information. Compensation & Benefits This is a remote position. We provide full health benefits. Compensation range is $70,000 to $150,000.
