As part of our experienced Group Underwriting team, you will review, analyze and interpret financial information to prepare new business quotations; review and assess historical claims experience to prepare financial reports for renewals; and handle inquiries, amendments and rate negotiations in a timely manner. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to both internal and external contacts throughout this process. Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to effectively convey information and build relationships A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a group benefits underwriting role Strong understanding of all financial arrangements, including non-refund, ASO and retention accounting Candidates must have post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and experience Broad knowledge of group insurance products High level of attention to detail and accuracy Effective problem solving and negotiating skills Strong mathematical and analytical skills Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently Capable of handling multiple tasks effectively while meeting deadlines Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills Completion of GBA/CEBS courses would be considered an asset The successful candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Requirements
Requires at least five years of group benefits underwriting experience, post-secondary education or equivalent experience, broad knowledge of group insurance products, and understanding of non-refund, ASO, and retention accounting. Candidates should have strong analytical, mathematical, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, along with Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency; GBA/CEBS coursework is an asset.
