Role: Financial Analyst 📍 Location: Toronto & Waterloo 📄 Type: Contract 💰 Rate: $40-$45/hr We're seeking a Senior Associate, Accounting & Controls to join a growing finance team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys financial reporting, controls, process improvement, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities Coordinate monthly and quarterly accounting close activities, reconciliations, reporting, and financial analysis. Prepare and post journal entries in SAP while ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Assist in the preparation of legal entity financial statements and investigate reporting variances. Support regulatory and compliance reporting requirements. Coordinate audit requests, prepare supporting documentation, and liaise with internal and external auditors. Collaborate with stakeholders to implement and document new finance processes. Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies. Maintain strong governance practices and financial controls. Support strategic finance projects and business initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. 5-7 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit, or finance functions. CPA designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA) strongly preferred. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliations. Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficiency in Word and PowerPoint. Experience with Power BI and/or Tableau is considered an asset. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels. Experience within Financial Services, Asset Management, or Investment Management is considered an asset.
