Summary Providing direct support to the Controller, the Senior Financial Analyst will work closely with finance and operational personnel at GFL Environmental Services. As an experienced Financial Analyst, you enjoy working in a fast-paced, growth environment. Possessing strong analytics, you are comfortable working through various finance functions within an organization and have a keen ability to spot and work through opportunities for improvement. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Preparation of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Coordinate posting and reconciliation of intercompany transactions. Ensure transactions are in accordance with company policy and procedures. Work with cross functional teams on division specific billing and accounts payable requirements. Work with District and Operations Managers to complete the capital requests, budgets, and forecasts for the Region. Prepare and finalize financial reporting deliverables and KPI’s for month and quarter end. Provide variance analysis of results on a monthly basis in accordance with head office deadlines. Lead and support the team through delivery of assigned projects. Other duties as required. Education, Qualifications And Experience A degree in Finance or Accounting, must possess a CPA designation with 3-5 years of post-designation experience Waste Industry experience is an asset Preferential experience includes Microsoft Suite, Workday, and Google Workspace. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Strong attention to detail, and ability to flow through financial transactions. Able to support closure on a tight schedule and provide timely analysis of results. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively present to a variety of audiences. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
