Financial analyst position (M&A)

In order to support our growth, we are currently looking for a financial analyst specialized in mergers and acquisitions (M&A). 

The M&A Analyst, who reports to the Vice President Finance, will be primarily responsible for analyzing the past performance of target companies and developing proforma.  He/she will integrate the documents and narratives into a business case and will be involved in due diligence activities.  He/she will be involved in the development of transaction documents, participate in business integration and analysis of actual and expected performance. In addition, he/she will be responsible for preparing consolidated financial statements for the group.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare commercial and financial analyses of the targeted companies.
• Write business plans.
• Perform due diligence audits.
• In collaboration with the parent company's legal department, participate in M&A transactions.
• Participate in the post-transaction integration in collaboration with departmental managers.
• Produce post-transaction analyses.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly consolidated financial statements and the necessary accounting analyses.

Skills

• Mastery of Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables).
• Excellent judgment, sense of initiative and attention to detail.
• Very good communication skills in both French and English (oral and written).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Discretion.
• Knowledge of "One Stream" would be an asset.

Qualifications

• CPA or CFA designation.
• Five to seven years of professional experience including working on all facets of M&A transactions and consolidation of financial statements.

This is a full-time, permanent position. Competitive compensation is offered. Candidates must be available to work from Monday to Friday at our St-Leonard office.
