Position title: Team Lead, Financial Business Support

Location: Montreal

Reports to: Manager, Financial Business Support

The Corporate and General Accounting Group is in charge of the accounting of certain shared services within the company and supports the various Operations Center departments and the Head Office in the management of their accounting activities. General Accounting must also analyze the overhead of Domtar in order to help the managers in their decision-making process.

Reporting to the Manager, Financial Business Support, you will respond to various ad hoc requests under the Corporate and General Accounting Group. You will also be involved in various projects of system integration affecting the Corporate and General Accounting Group general ledger.

Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Develop tools using Excel, BW and Longview in order to automate and improve efficiency of tasks performed by the Group;
  • Participate in the development of the Sharepoint portal of the Group;
  • Design and provide training to group members on systems. Ex: Excel update, SAP, BW, Longview, Spreadsheet Server;
  • Work in partnership with several departments at Head Office including, among others, the payroll department, in order to carry out the necessary financial tests before going into production in the auxiliary and General Ledger systems;
  • Give support to other teams of the group in case of punctual needs or peak periods.

In project periods, you will have to:

  • Prepare status reports (involvement);
  • Define the needs of the users and provide with recommendations in line with the project objectives;
  • Act as a point of contact between IT representatives and the Corporate and General Accounting teams. Ensure that all relevant team members are aware of the plans, the problems, progress, risks, etc.

Professional Experience/Qualifications:

  • You have a Bachelor degree in Accounting, (a CA, CMA or CGA accounting designation considered as an asset);
  • You have a minimum of six (6) years of accounting experience;
  • Your knowledge of SAP (FI/CO) is an undeniable asset;
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel, is necessary;
  • You are bilingual (written and spoken French and English).
