SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

Reporting to the Manager, Accounting Operations, Treasury, you   will be responsible for monitoring and processing accounting transactions related to various structures in the treasury system. You will also contribute to the analysis and preparation of the corresponding financial reports.

  • Understand and identify key terms, conditions and financial restrictions in financing documents;
  • Input all necessary information for real estate and inter-company debt into the treasury system to ensure proper and accurate tracking;
  • Prepare executive summaries for each new transaction to facilitate data entry in the treasury system; identify key provisions and restrictions, and populate the data warehouse with information derived exclusively from the legal paperwork ;
  • Calculate third-party financing receivables, prepare statements and follow up to make sure payments are received on time ;
  • Enter acquisition and disposition transactions into the system ;
  • Process and record real estate and inter-company transactions in the general ledger and prepare year-end accruals;
  • Record the market value of real estate and corporate debts, derivatives and the specialized portfolio (PS710);
  • Analyze and reconcile information in the treasury system, general ledger and financial statements received from partners ;
  • Follow up with partners as required ;
  • Incorporate new structures into the treasury system;
  • Prepare reports to populate dashboards for presentations to various committees;
  • Document financing-related processes and help ensure adherence to treasury systems;
  • Ensure needs of the main shareholders and business units are met and respond to requests from external auditors during the year-end process;
  • Help implement a new treasury management system;
  • Contribute to upgrading accounting processes in the automated corporate accounting system for financial instruments managed by Treasury (real estate and inter-company debts, financing, derivatives);
  • Monitor financial restrictions (compliance) related to real estate debts;
  • Respond to requests made by banking institutions with regard to corporate facilities:
    • Obtain the required documents;
    • Calculate the corresponding ratios;
    • Send documentation to external financial institutions by the stipulated deadline;
    • Ensure that banking institutions make the changes to the terms and conditions related to ESG agreements (e.g., by reducing rates);
  •  Carry out all other necessary tasks.

KEY REQUIREMENTS                                                                                                                

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting;
  • CPA designation earned or in progress;
  • Five to seven years of position-related or financial analysis experience within a large organization;
  • Experience in a multi-currency environment with complex legal structures, an asset;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including new applications (Power BI, Power Automate); familiarity with JD Edwards an asset;
  • Fluency in written and spoken French and English;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to adapt to change and embrace a positive attitude toward learning;
  • Detail-oriented, organized and self-motivated;
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and meet tight deadlines.
