Specific accountabilities

The CSR team's mandate is to guide and engage Ivanhoé Cambridge teams and lead cross-functional collaborations to achieve our CSR objectives. The team acts as a center of excellence in supporting business units and corporate functions and collaborates with our network of peers and partners.

You will assist the CSR team with their mandate to stimulate the ESG (Environment, social, and governance) performance of the company's global portfolio of assets. This assistance will largely come through the analysis and subsequent recommendations for the execution of sustainable investment strategies and initiatives.

In this capacity, under the general supervision of the Manager, Sustainability, the successful applicant will work in close collaboration with multiple stakeholders, partners and business units, actively engaging across the company with the goal of aiding in the continued development of an industry-leading ESG program.

_Main duties include the following: _

  • Contribute to the delivery of Ivanhoé Cambridge's sustainable investment goals, notably through data analytics and financial analysis support;
  • Perform advanced data analytics across multiple ESG and financial data sets to enhance our ability to drive Ivanhoé Cambridge's global portfolio ESG performance;
  • Develop tools and methodologies required to achieve an advanced level of analytic capabilities for the organization;
  • Perform research and analysis – including financial analysis - on technology-related trends affecting Ivanhoé Cambridge's business, such as PropTech, IoT, AI, Energy management and renewables, and sustainable materials, and work to develop business cases for the implementation of relevant and promising technologies;
  • Build and maintain an ESG data management system in collaboration with Information Technology and Finance;
  • Prepare recommendations and presentations on ESG-related opportunities;
  • Coordinate the execution of projects aiming at improving the environmental and social performance of Ivanhoé Cambridge's portfolio;
  • Provide support across the rest of the CSR team.

Key requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or relevant discipline; master's degree in a relevant discipline is an asset;
  • Three to five years of experience in a related position in professional services or asset management, including experience in ESG data analysis; experience in real estate is an asset;
  • Professional title (e.g., CFA or CA) an asset;
  • Strong and demonstrated interest in ESG and sustainable finance;
  • Proficiency in data analytics, financial/investment analysis, with large and complex data sets;
  • Strong strategic thinking skills - ability to interpret and synthesize large amounts of data from multiple sources into meaningful information and action-oriented recommendations;
  • Strong ability to combine quantitative and qualitative analysis and solve complex challenges;
  • Curious, high-achiever, focus on quality and attention to details;
  • Ability to perform under pressure with tight deadlines;
  • Fluency in written and spoken French and English with strong business writing skills;
  • Team player, ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously across teams, comfortable working with a large, geographically diverse group of stakeholders at varying levels of the organization;
  • Ability to work with a certain degree of ambiguity, to self-regulate in terms of time management, and to produce high-quality outcomes in a consistent manner;
  • Expert-level proficiency in Excel (e.g., financial modelling), Word and PowerPoint software.
