Specific accountabilities

You will report to the Manager, Financial Administration and Accounting, in Montreal and work closely with Senior Property Accountants in Montreal, Toronto and Calgary. Your responsibilities include the following:

  • Perform various tasks related to monthly processes:

  • Calculate accruals and adjustments for both revenues and expenses;

  • Track various accruals;
  • Prepare and reconcile journal entries for the gift card program;
  • Analyze intercompany transactions and record the corresponding journal entries;

  • Analyze general and administration expenses;

  • Record allocations for various property-related expenses;
  • Produce certain documents and analyses for partners:

  • Prepare documents for cash calls and distributions;

  • Prepare monthly files for financial reports;

  • Ensure the accounting of entries for administration/regional companies;

  • Support Senior Property Accountants with various queries and requests:

  • Assist in financial control review of properties;

  • Assist in transactions;
  • Contribute to the year-end budgeting process;
  • Backfill Senior Property Accountants on an ad hoc basis;
  • Assist with various ad hoc requests as required;

  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives.

Key requirements

  • Three or more years of relevant accounting experience;
  • University degree in accounting;
  • Excellent command of spoken and written French and English;
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications, including Excel;
  • Ability to work under pressure and respect tight deadlines;
  • High energy with a positive learning attitude;
  • Team player and strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Flexible work schedule as required.
