Description
BBA has an established Renewable
Power business and desires to strengthen its position in the Wind and Solar
business across Canada. In this leadership role, the Director will be
responsible for the development of Wind and Solar opportunities and
projects. The Director will leverage his
expertise, knowledge of the industry, client relationships, and engineering
experience to achieve BBA’s objectives below. This position’s
focus will be to grow BBA’s Wind and Solar energy business.
Operation
Identify, assess, and hire key
competencies particular to the Wind and Solar sector that are needed to execute
the work to a high quality and expand markets.
Oversee delivery of projects and act as
Sponsor and/or Engineer of Record for selected projects.
Mentor young/future potential lead
engineers within the organization.
Support succession planning and identify
strategic hires that will lead the business in the future.
Take the role of Project/Study Manager
and/or Project Sponsor for strategic customers.
Business development
Position the firm for upcoming
opportunities, generate RFPs, and prepare a pursuit/capture strategy.
Commercial / Pricing strategy needed to
win.
Identify any capability gaps and strategic
partner/teaming requirements needed to win.
Act as CAM (Client Account Manager) for
some clients.
Coordinate with CAMs to ensure a
coordinated client management process.
Cross-sell the services of other divisions
within other Business lines.
Track opportunities using BBA’s
opportunity database management system.
Support the development/sustainability of
a "12 Month Work Backlog Projection" to be updated monthly.
Development of a "3 Year Backlog
Projection" (by quarter) to be reviewed every 6 months.
Provide exposure to potential new
customers and expand relationships with existing customers.
Proposals
Review RFPs and steer the proposal
execution plan and deliverables in the direction needed to win established in
the pursuit strategy.
Support the preparation of proposals via
creative thinking and alternative approaches.
Review proposals to ensure that the
requirements of the RFP are met (technical and commercial) and that the price
is competitive.
Provide assistance as a senior advisor
during the proposal/award process and throughout the project life cycle.
Strategic planning
Review and update Wind and Solar Strategy
and Action plan.
Identify target clients towards building a
sustainable client portfolio balanced between repeat business and capital
expenditure projects.
Support the development and tracking of
customer/project location "logistics/geography" in view of being a
sustained global service provider with preferred low risk customers.
Recommend
future potential strategic resource/firm that can complement the in-house expertise.
