The selected candidate to be controller for C&C Packing is recognized as being both meticulous and understands the nuances of accounting within family-run businesses and public companies.

C&C Packing was, until very recently, a family-run company founded in 1974, that distributes high-quality meat products across Canada. Recently integrated into the multinational company Premium Brands, C&C is a supplier for leading Canadian supermarkets, HRI distributors and purveyor of the best meats. The company enjoys sustained growth and a strong financial position.

As a controller, the selected candidate will have to complete the following tasks:

  • Consolidation of financial statements for the purposes of presentation to the head office;
  • Preparation of end-of-term and quarter-end reports, summary of the results of the period and of the details of the results for a full quarter;
  • Preparation of the periodic financial statements;
  • Weekly and monthly bank reconciliations;
  • Regular communication with Canada Revenue Agency and Revenue Quebec with regards to GST/QST declaration as well as with the various internal accounting teams;
  • Preparation of wire transfers on the banking platform;
  • Participation to audits;
  • Management of the accounts payable and receivable cycles.

The person we choose will have the following skills and aptitudes:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting;
  • CPA designation;
  • 10 years of accounting experience including five (5) years as a controller;
  • Experience in personnel management;
  • Excellent computer skills with Excel and experience with accounting software;
  • Work environment is mainly anglophone, advanced bilingualism FR/EN (spoken and written).
