Specific accountabilities

Reporting to the Manager, Treasury Management, you will be in charge of negotiating and executing financial instruments on currency, interest rates and short-term investments. You will also be responsible for analyzing financial risks for the organization, proposing risk mitigation strategies, preparing a variety of financial reports and tracking key performance indicators.

Main duties include the following:

Transactions

• Negotiate and trade foreign exchange and interest rate-based financial instruments (spots, forwards, swaps, cross-currency swaps, options) and money market instruments (bank credit lines and short-term investments) in compliance with the Corporate Policy;
• Track inflows and outflows of funds in foreign currencies and put forward the required adjustments to currency hedging when the Company begins a new transaction;
• Monitor hedging levels by strategy type (dynamic, strategic, discretionary and operational) and changes in foreign holdings by currency; monitor the benchmark portfolio;
• Monitor exposure to various financial counterparties;
• Track derivatives and enter them into Finlogik;
• Assist in implementing new benchmark interest rates, given that LIBOR is being discontinued.

Analysis

• Monitor the world economy for events that might impact the Company's performance and financial risks;
• Conduct and review complex financial analysis;
• Develop analytical tools to aid decision-making;
• Produce and distribute a variety of periodic management analyses related to financial risk management (currency hedging costs, transactional volume per counterparty, VaR, sensitivity analysis);
• Contribute to and assist with the modelling required when proposing a hedging strategy for the management of interest rate, currency and credit risks;
• Help develop and implement a new treasury management system;
• Assist internal and external audits as required.

Key requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance or another relevant field; master's degree in a relevant field, an asset;
• CFA, FRM or PRM designation, significantly preferred;
• Minimum seven years of experience, including three to five years of relevant experience in a corporate environment;
• Fluency in written and spoken French and English;
• Experience in a multi-currency environment with complex legal structures;
• Experience in negotiating foreign currency transactions, foreign exchange and interest rate derivatives;
• In-depth knowledge of quantitative methods, modelling tools and market conventions for derivatives;
• Knowledge of one or more trading platforms, an asset;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite as well as Bloomberg and Finlogik;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines;
• Disciplined, energetic, organized and self-directed.
